April 26, 1986: A series of explosions ravages the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, contaminating everything within a radius of more than 200 km. After the evacuation of the nearest villages, groups of hunters are formed with the mission of cutting down the animals affected by radiation and living in freedom in ghost villages. In the weeks following the explosion at the Chernobyl plant, teams of hunters are sent to the contaminated areas to exterminate all wild and domestic animals affected by radiation. Attracted by noises from a church, the young Kolia, whom his father hunter invited to participate in the fight, discovers a tribe of kids living in the basement of the city: the children of the atom. They survived the disaster and are now trying to survive the days without a future.
